You must have NIN to write JAMB, says FG

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has stressed that possessing a National Identity Number (NIN) is a compulsory requirement for UTME registration. He said this during the 2020 Ministerial Press Briefing.
He directed that Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) must work out modalities for the implementation. He said "the use of the National Identity Number (NIN) for JAMB registration by candidates is now a government policy.

"JAMB is working closely with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), to ensure the sustainability of this policy and eliminate multiple registrations", he added.
Mr. Adamu also revealed that the government has built and equipped over 650 JAMB examination centers while planning to build additional 800 more in 2021,& 1,000 in 2022 & 1,200 in 2023 to compensate for population growth.
Therefore, if you or your ward intends to register for JAMB and are yet to obtain a NIN, you are advised to do so as soon as possible. The 2021 registration for UTME is expected to commence at anytime.
